- The benefits of using
- solid flooring

Appearance – Like a good
wine, real wood flooring improves with age. Surveys show that
together with kitchens and bathrooms, wooden floors are a deciding
factor to potential house buyers. The use of wood is becoming
increasingly fashionable amongst environmentally conscious buyers.
Longevity – Although the cost of a wood floor is
approximately 20% above the cost of a quality carpet, its life
expectancy of up to 50 years, is 150% longer. This provides a much
better return on capital expenditure and allows another tree to
grow to maturity during its use
A responsible use of wood as a resource with less
wastage – Such flooring is selected for quality, not for colour.
The natural colour of wood is an enhancing characteristic,
mistakenly considered to be a defect
A natural product – Manufactured from wood, the
world’s only naturally regenerating construction material sourced
from sustainable yield forests, managed to provide a continuous
supply of timber
Increases the perceived value of the forest – and
therefore helps to ensure its survival against competing
agricultural development
Easy to clean – Less energy and time required for
maintenance, with any dust accumulation easily wiped or brushed
away
Low energy production cost – Converting wood into flooring uses
far less energy and therefore generates less CO˛ than virtually
any alternative. It is a fact that healthy young trees absorb CO˛
Improves insulation values – Once installed wood
flooring is an extremely effective insulating material. This
reduces heat loss and house running costs
A biodegradable and recyclable product
Hypoallergenic – Wood flooring provides a
healthier environment for allergy sufferers. It is also free from
static electricity |
