Unfinished timber

Available in either rustic, character, or prime grade, Dyfed Richards’s new unfinished timbers will allow you to create a unique floor according to your own requirements. Once installed, this must be sanded to a smooth finish, then apply the seal of your choice, whether a light polyurethane finish, natural oil, or a luxurious coloured wax, to complete the look and protect your new floor.

Any colour / Any finish

If you would prefer us to do some of the hard work for you, then we supply an unfinished flooring which comes to you already filled and sanded to a 120 grit finish. Available in 4 widths, and finished with a micro bevel, we can even apply your choice of coloured stain, and finish with lacquer, oil or wax as you desire, leaving the mess at our warehouse, and enabling you to finish fitting on site quickly.

Prefinished

Our extensive range of prefinished solid hardwood flooring provides the prefect solution for those who wish to create a truly beautiful floor quickly, simply and with minimum fuss whilst still maintaining a quality finish. From traditional Light Oak to exotic Merbau, Dyfed Richards’s range of prefinished timbers is unrivalled, and all are available in a choice of widths to suit your requirements. Finished with either 6 coats of UV lacquer for those that require a tough finish, or oiled for a softer natural appearance, this flooring requires no extra sanding or finishing once installed.

Engineered

Dyfed Richards’s range of engineered timbers can provide you with all the advantages of a solid timber floor, but at a reduced outlay. Available in either a 3 strip or 1 strip, only the top layer of the board (normally 3.6mm or 4mm) is solid timber. Layers of wood slats are then bonded to the top layer at a 90 degree angle, to create strength, and finally a bottom layer is added again at 90 degrees to the middle layer, in order to add stability. The result is a beautiful floor, which is quick and easy to install. Available in a multitude of timbers, with different grade, width and length specifications, and in either a lacquered or oiled finish, the choice is virtually endless.

Reclaimed and Antique

Sourced from across Europe, our Reclaimed and Antique timbers have a depth of beauty that has taken many many years to achieve, and a natural patina which only time and wear creates. As these materials are unique and individual they are guaranteed to create a truly bespoke floor full of warmth and character.

Available in Pine, Oak, Elm and Chestnut, ranging from the 17th to the 20th Century, this timber can be supplied as long boards up to 250mm wide, strips, blocks, chevrons and hand made panels, enabling unlimited design options to be created.
